This was one of the challenges of natural light photography.

The upper room was dark. And abandoned. It was empty except for bits and pieces of things strewn all over the floor. Including this family portrait.

I had to take this picture using a very slow shutter speed of, if I remember correctly, 1/4 of a second. I held my breath and hoped for the best. It turned out slightly blur, which was just as well.
