CUT CARROT: Photography by Richard Seah @ richardseah.com

There is a story about someone who travelled a great distance to seek out a teacher of meditation, only to be told to go and cut carrots.

The lesson is that when you cut carrot, you cut carrot. You focus your mind on that one task alone and nothing else. That is meditation.

Likewise, photography can be meditative.

I used a worn out washing board for the backdrop to this series of "still life with vegetables", taken by the window with natural sunlight.

I still keep that washing board.
