With a begging bowl, a monk walks through a street market in Burma. This is his daily routine.

He does not beg, really. He would not say "Thank You". Rather, those who give thank him for the privilege giving alms and, therefore, gaining merit to secure a better after life.

The monk does not receive money because he is not allowed to handle money. He receives food. It will be his only meal for the day.
