THAIPUSAM 2005
I bought myself a new used lens for Thaipusam 2005 a Nikkor 75-300 zoom. It was much better than the Tamrom 70-300 that I used last year, heavier (glass, not plastic) but more steady. So this time, I did not have disappointing shots with obvious camera shakes. I also went back to using slides (Fuji Provia 400 and 100). The images came out a lot nicer on slides. Unfortunately, some of the scans turned out far too dark and required much adjustment on Photoshop despite me sending them to one of the most reputable film processing / scanning labs. Perhaps I need to scan them myself with a dedicated flim / slide scanner. Can't afford a good one yet, so this is about the best I can show for now. In terms of subject matter, I was beginning to wonder if it would be more of the same thing. It seemed that way during the first few minutes at the temple. But no. Thaipusam is thoroughly varied and fascinating. I continue to be inspired and challenged as a photographer.
